New Cabinet members told to drive ahead Thai economy

BANGKOK, August 24 (TNA) - Realising that his interim government has about one year left to administer Thailand, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has told his new Cabinet line-up to work hard for the nation, stressing that “there is no time left for any honeymoon period”. Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists on Tuesday, after the Cabinet's weekly meeting, that the prime minister has assigned his new Cabinet members, who started working for the first day on August 24, to work hard and to move forward the Thai economy. The spokesman said the prime minister also told every minister to inform him of measures to be implemented to assist local people. Besides, the prime minister told the new Cabinet line-up that economic-related ministers must assist low-income earners to bolster money circulation in the national economic system, to speed up disbursing state budgets to fund government-sponsored investment projects and to introduce incentives to attract more foreign investment projects into Thailand amid greater business competition in the region.
