New grey crowned crane chicks welcome int'l visitors at Chiang Mai Zoo

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, October 6 (TNA) - The Chiang Mai Zoo in the Thai North now has two grey crowned crane chicks to welcome international visitors at its Nakhonping Aviary. Chiang Mai Zoo Director Niphon Wichairat told journalists on October 5 that the two newly-bred grey crowned crane chicks are healthy although their gender has not yet been determined. Niphon said the number of grey crowned crane birds at the Chiang Mai Zoo has, thus, risen to 13. According to the director, sharp-eyed grey crowned crane birds that normally live in groups and eats seeds, insects, fish and crab are not a migrating species, but they are a native bird in Africa’s savanna, south of Sahara desert. The director, meanwhile, invited international tourists to visit the Chiang Mai Zoo, in which the grey crowned crane birds, also being the national symbol of Uganda, and other varieties of animals and flowers are awaiting to greet and welcome them.
