New Thai Cabinet members start working

BANGKOK, September 15 (TNA) - Several new Thai Cabinet members, headed by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, have started their work, after taking oaths before His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and attending an informal Cabinet meeting earlier this month. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, along with Deputy Defence Minister General Udomdej Sitabutr, witnessed a military parade, attended a briefing on his ministry’s policies and held a meeting on national security. Justice Minister General Paiboon Khoomchaya chaired a meeting on regional drug prevention and suppression among senior officials from member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the 10-member bloc's three dialogue partners, including China, Japan and South Korea. Culture Minister Veera Rojpojanarat voiced his plan to offer tax incentives to those donating money to support his ministry’s affairs, saying he plans to reduce tax by as much as double of the amount of money donated to the ministry. Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Pitipong Pungbun Na Ayudhya presented his policies to his ministry's senior officials, telling them to urgently take actions on key issues to assist local farmers, including a drop in rubber prices, the development of shrimp exports, illegal fishing, drought and cruxes faced by local cooperatives stores. Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda and his deputy, Suthi Makboon, presented policies to nationwide provincial governors through a video conference, ordering them to work honestly for the public.
