Newly-appointed top monk offers blessing

BANGKOK, Feb 11 (TNA) - Thailand’s newly appointed Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Maha Muniwong on Saturday offered his blessing to Buddhists on the occasion of Makha Bucha Day. Somdet Phra Maha Muniwong, the abbot of Wat Ratchabophit instructed the Buddhists to live a simple life and not to create troublesome to others. His blessing was conducted while a large crowd of Buddhists travelled to teh temple to listen to a sermon and make merit on Makha Bucha Day. Devout Buddhists are allowed to pay respect to revered Phra Buddha Ankhiros inside the chapel at the temple throughout Saturday. Candle-light procession will also be held at 7.00 p.m. while monks will preach sermons until dawn Sunday. (TNA)
