Newspapers Highlight Strong Relations between Qatar and Turkey

Doha, August 18 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers, Al-Sharq and Al-Watan, underlined the strong relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey at all political, economic, military and cultural levels, and highlighted the praise of the international economic circles to the initiative of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his strong support to Turkey which is facing an unprecedented economic challenge. In its editorial on Saturday, Al-Sharq newspaper said that on the basis of the distinct relations between Doha and Ankara and the principles of Islam, the state of Qatar has been quick to support the Turkish economy through HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's initiative providing a $15 billion investment package. The Qatari daily noted that the Qatari initiative was highlighted by the media and international press which stressed the importance of the initiative and its impact on the revival of the Turkish economy. In this context, and in continuation of the Qatari initiative, Qatar Central Bank and the Central Bank of Turkey signed currency swap agreement which will facilitate and enhance trade exchange between the two countries and support the financial stability, Al-Sharq said. Qatar and Turkey have joint positions and united visions in support of Arab and Islamic issues and the dignity of people which prompted the Qatari initiative to support the Turkish economy, Al-Sharq concluded. For its part, Al-Watan stressed Qatar's important role on the regional and international arenas, proving its loyalty to human values and attracting attention of the international economic circles. The Qatari daily referred to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's initiative in support of Turkey which is facing an unpreceded economic challenge, indicating Qatar's important roles and its quick response to events on the basis of full respect for international conventions and initiatives in various fields. Through its support for Turkey, Qatar sent many diplomatic, political, economic and humanitarian messages, affirming its credible and transparent roles, and prompting international praise to its wise leadership for providing the world with models of loyalty between brothers and friends, Al-Watan said.
