Newspapers Laud Qatari Aid to Jordan

Doha, June 14 (QNA) - In their editorials today, Qatari newspapers praised the aid package announced yesterday by the State of Qatar to provide Jordan with $500 million and offer 10,000 jobs for Jordanians in Qatar, stressing that this aid reflects Qatar's keenness on Jordan's security and stability and supporting its economy. The newspapers commended the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to support Jordan by investing in infrastructure and tourism projects which reflected Qatar's keenness on Jordan's stability, stressing Qatar's standing by the government and people of Jordan, based on the brotherly historic relations and solid principles of the State of Qatar and its inherent Arab values. Al-Raya affirmed that the half-billion-dollar package of Qatari aid to Jordan and the provision of 10,000 jobs for Jordanians in Qatar have demonstrated the appreciation of Qatar for this people who highly valued this fraternal and humanitarian position on behalf of the people of Jordan and appreciated the Amir, government and people of Qatar, who have been for many years supporting their Jordanian brothers. It said that Qatari support did not stop at a particular issue or project, but covered many areas. Therefore, Qatar, through these investments and job opportunities for 10,000 young people, has confirmed that it matched its words with deeds, and away from political speculation or putting pressure that some tried to do in order to support Jordan. The newspaper noted the directives of HH the Amir to support Jordan by investing in infrastructure and tourism projects which reflected Qatar's keenness on Jordan's stability as this aid will help revive the Jordanian economy and contribute to its development in a sustainable manner to ensure the stability of the country politically and economically, especially as Jordan is a central country in the region, and its stability is of interest to all. It pointed out that the importance of providing employment opportunities for Jordanian youth and implementing the projects that Qatar intends to carry out in Jordan through the establishment of an investment fund for infrastructure and tourism projects come from the premise that it boosts investment and direct and indirect investment opportunities both during the period of implementation of these projects or after entering the stage of providing services or production, which will contribute to economic stability and thus political stability in Jordan. Al-Raya concluded by saying that Qatar's standing by the government and people of Jordan stems from the brotherly historic brotherly relations with Jordan and the solid principles of the State of Qatar and its inherent Arab values, pointing out that Jordan's steadfast positions on a number of national issues are commendable in relation to the Palestinian issue, which is a strategic, historical and popular depth for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, especially in the preservation of Islamic and Arab rights in the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif under Hashemite guardianship. Qatari aid to Jordan at this time is a support for this steadfastness, it said. Al-Watan stressed that the State of Qatar translates its vision of the importance of solidarity in the Arab and Islamic worlds and pays close attention to the priorities of the issues of societies and peoples through deeds rather than words. It stressed that it was not surprising that under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar has provided the outstanding assistance to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its leadership, government and people in light of the fact that the Jordanian reality has recently been strained by the aggravation of economic suffering. The newspaper pointed to the message sent by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HM King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. Conveyed by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during a meeting with HM King of Jordan yesterday, the message outlined the State of Qatar's pledge to provide 10,000 jobs in the State of Qatar for young men and women of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in addition to investing USD 500 million in infrastructure and tourism projects in Jordan. Al-Watan noted that the State of Qatar continues this important step in its distinguished foreign policy path which attracts both admiration and confidence, adding that the concerns of the Arab and Islamic nations are inseparable, and that Qatar is always at the forefront of those launching initiatives to help brothers and friends in time of need. Al-Arab said the State of Qatar has never given up its Arab and Islamic depth. It is now making another honorable position as it stands by Jordan in confronting its economic ordeal, at a time when the countries stand against files conceded by others to give effect to the deal of the century and to abandon Islamic and Arab identity of Al-Quds Al-Sharif. It pointed out that the State of Qatar not only provided half a billion dollars in aid to the Jordanian economy, which paid the bill of the challenges faced by the whole region, but went beyond that by providing 10,000 job opportunities for the people of the Kingdom. The paper praised the State of Qatar's diplomatic approach regarding its help which was announced in a verbal message sent by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HM King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al Hussein and conveyed by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during a meeting with HM King of Jordan yesterday. It stressed that Qatar is well aware that there are parties that want Jordan to slip into an economic ordeal that will create chaos and help create a new geographical and demographic reality, but at the same time realizes that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan - with its leadership, institutions and people - stands consciously in the face of these challenges to which Arab parties have contributed seeking to annihilate the Palestinian question quickly at the expense of Jordan, in the context of the rush of those countries toward normalization with the Zionist entity, and in seeking the blessing of the White House in its subversive regional projects that affected Yemen and others. Al-Arab concluded by saying that the State of Qatar has been keen on the security and stability of Jordan for decades and that its standing by Jordan side does not seek to change its political will, but it falls within the context of Doha's keenness to recover the Hashemite Kingdom from its crisis and help it emerge stronger than before. Al-Sharq newspaper stressed that the State of Qatar's standing by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in light of the difficult economic circumstances and challenges facing it, is out of the historic relations between the two brotherly countries, adding that Qatar's position has always affirmed its unwavering commitment to and fulfillment of its national and Islamic duty towards the brotherly Arab States and their peoples. In an article by its editor-in-chief, the newspaper praised the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani that derived from the principles of the State of Qatar and its inherent Arab values to provide 10,000 jobs in the State of Qatar for Jordanian young men and women in addition to investing $500 million in Jordan's infrastructure and tourism projects, which will revive the Jordanian economy and contribute to its sustainable development. It pointed out that the nature of the Qatari assistance is not limited to emergency relief in times of emergency, but rather focusing mainly on reconstruction programs and supporting sustainable development projects, such as health projects, education and others, as it provides scientific and practical solutions to crises. The daily said that the Qatari support to Jordan announced yesterday will provide an impetus for the economy and investment, as well as direct and indirect investment opportunities, both during the period of implementation of the proposed investment projects for infrastructure and tourism projects, or after entering the service or production stage. It also provides job opportunities for Jordanian youth. These projects are of a sustainable nature and focus on supporting young people who are the hope of the future and the driving force of production as demonstrated by the experiences of a number of emerging economies. Al-Sharq added that Qatar has always been committed to providing economic, political and diplomatic support to achieve the ultimate goal of ensuring sustainable development in brotherly countries. The Qatari aid programs have been consistent, unconditional and in line with the country's position to support infrastructure projects, improve education and promote health services in many countries. From Gaza in Palestine through Darfur in Sudan to Lebanon and Somalia, the State of Qatar has presented outstanding examples of development support that has contributed to the security and stability of those areas and achieved the recognized contribution to the promotion of international peace and security, it said. It said that Qatar has proved in international forums that fighting terrorism can only be achieved by ensuring economic justice, providing jobs, improving services and meeting the aspirations of young people. Qatar called on the international system to take care of youth issues in all countries in order to create suitable environment for creativity, production, development and positive contribution to development in societies, the daily said, stressing that the policy of the State of Qatar by standing with brothers is based on sustainable development support, rather than temporary assistance. It is a solid basis for strengthening the security and stability of brotherly and friendly countries, it said. (END)
