Newspapers: Qatar, Turkey Provide Unique Model for Bilateral Strategic Relations

Doha, July 03 (QNA) - The Qatari newspapers published Friday discussed the significance and dimensions of the "important visit" in terms of the political situation in the region and the current international scene, which was carried out on Thursday by HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the State of Qatar, during which he discussed with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani many issues. The papers unanimously agreed on its importance for the strategic relations between Doha and Ankara. In their editorials, the Qatari newspapers emphasized that HE President Erdogan's visit comes within the framework of mutual visits between officials in the two countries for the good of the region and the world, adding the visit is an important station in the path of relations between the two countries under the guidance of both leaders. The relations between Doha and Ankara are witnessing more cooperation and integration in political, economic, commercial, military, security, culture, tourism, sports, and other fields. Titled "Qatar and Turkey .. a unique model for strategic relations", Al Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that Qatar and Turkey provide a unique model for strategic relations between two countries, as many stations stand witness to the depth of the existing strategic alliance between the two countries, which emerges and shines in times of hardship and difficult situations that show the true friendship. The newspaper pointed out that thanks to the political will of the leadership of the two countries, these strategic relations between the two countries have been in continuous development, indicating that the meeting that brought together HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Thursday evening with HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Doha, is an important milestone in the march of these relations, as the two leaders affirmed their determination to push it to more cooperative and integrated levels in all fields. It is not surprising that the State of Qatar is the first destination for HE the Turkish President outside his country since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as it is an affirmation of the depth of relations that bring the two countries together at all levels, relations whose strength and durability have been tested in the darkest times, as Qatar stood alongside Turkey in the face of the failed coup attempt in 2016, while Ankara stood by Doha in the face of the unjust siege. At the Turkish lira, Qatar supported Turkey, as HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani directed presenting USD15 billion package of measures to support the Turkish economy including investments, deposits, and guarantees, the daily added. The bilateral relations have been advancing rapidly, driven by the summit meetings between HH the Amir and the Turkish President, as during the past six years the two leaders met 16 summits, which led to the signing of more than 50 agreements covering various areas of cooperation. Al Sharq pointed out that this visit is the second of HE President Erdogan to Doha in months, where His Excellency's visit to Qatar in November 2019 was a milestone in the process of bilateral cooperation aimed at achieving the common interests of the two countries and two brotherly peoples. It stressed that the institutional path of bilateral relations has helped to achieve all these accomplishments where the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee, headed by His Highness and the Turkish President, is the basis for the strength of the strategic alliance between the two countries. The newspaper noted the leaders' keenness on coordination and continuous consultation regarding regional developments in Palestine, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and others, as well as international issues of common concern, especially since the two countries' vision of regional issues stems from common denominators and convergent visions on many issues, where the great political harmony between them appears in positions and identical views on many regional and international issues, especially issues of the regional issues including Palestine, Syria, Libya, Yemen, and others. Al Sharq stressed that the great harmony in visions regarding various issues and the dynamism of relations strengthened the strength of the two countries at the regional and international levels, a force with what it possesses of tools that seek to benefit humanity and to enhance international peace and security. The newspaper pointed out in its editorial under the title An important visit to strengthen the Turkish-Qatari partnership, that these discussions derive their importance from the importance of the Qatari-Turkish relations that have shifted from bilateral cooperation relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields. The newspaper noted the results of the talks held by HH the Amir and HE President Erdogan, highlighting its importance for the Qatari-Turkish relations, which have become an integrated model for cooperation and coordination between partners in various political, economic, cultural and military fields, as it witnessed rapid growth since the imposition of the unjust blockade on the State of Qatar in 2017. Al Raya added that the crises witnessed by the two countries, and the standing next to each other led to the strengthening of the relations, which was reflected on the peoples of the two countries, so the rapprochement was at the level of leaders and people, as Turkey did not change its position in standing with Qatar against the unjust blockade. Doha, for its part, did not hesitate to support Ankara in all the crises it went through, whether during the failed coup attempt or economic support during the Turkish lira crisis in 2018 or by raising the ceiling of the currency swap agreement recently. Al Raya concluded by saying that Erdogan's visit to Doha stems from the importance and depth of the Qatari-Turkish relations and the positive role that the two countries have played regionally and internationally. Therefore, Qatar is proud of its strategic partnership with Turkey, because it is based on strong pillars and a common desire to enhance and preserve it, and the two countries, through their strategic partnership and identical visions on various international and regional issues, especially the situations in Libya and Syria, are a model for joint bilateral work in the face of regional and international issues. Al Watan newspaper highlighted the strong and strategic relations and the solid brotherhood between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, noting that these close ties were reflected in the development and diversity of cooperation between them at all levels. In its editorial, the newspaper pointed out that the Qatari-Turkish relations represent an integrated model for cooperation and coordination between partners and brothers in various political, economic, cultural and military fields, as it witnessed rapid growth since the imposition of the unjust blockade on the State of Qatar represented in increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which promises a prosperous future for these relations for the benefit of the two countries and peoples. The newspaper added that the meeting between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the bilateral strategic relations and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields, especially economic, investment, commercial, energy, and defense cooperation to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples, as the two leaders affirmed their determination to push relations between the two countries to more cooperative and integrated levels in all fields. The newspaper stressed that discussions were not limited to bilateral cooperation only, but also dealt with the most prominent developments regionally and internationally, including the situations in the region, especially in Palestine, Libya, Syria and Yemen, and the exchange of views and coordination on international issues of common concern. Al Watan stressed that this strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries resulted in addressing the Islamic issues, especially Palestine, as the two countries are struggling to stop the occupation plan to annex the West Bank to the occupying entity, as Qatar and Turkey have worked hard to confront this conspiracy, and they are still at the forefront of countries in defending the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state according to the borders of 1967.
