Newspapers Reiterate Qatar's Support to Palestine

Doha, August 10 (QNA) - Newspapers released today stressed in their editorials that the talks held between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, and highlighted that talks will continue in light of the two sides' constant deliberations. The papers highlighted the two sides commitment to Palestinian national reconciliation, given it is a key national interest for Palestine. They added that the meeting between HH the Amir and HE the President of Palestine reflects the commitment of the State of Qatar to the Palestinian cause, and confirms the country's support to the Palestinian people in the face of the crimes of the occupation. Al Sharq's editorial stressed that the Palestinian cause is a matter related to existence and to rights rather than just being about drawing up borders. They reiterated their support to establishing a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967, with Al Quds as its capital. In addition to the right of return and lifting the siege over Gaza. They expressed their optimism that the Palestinian parties are open to have a dialogue that ends their division and forms a national reconciliation government. The editorial concluding by shedding light on Qatar's efforts in rebuilding Gaza, and called on the international community to assume their historic responsibility of restarting the peace process. Al Rayah meanwhile said that the meeting between HH the Amir and HE the President of Palestine reflects Qatar's commitment to the Palestinian cause, and confirms the country's support to the Palestinian people in the face of the crimes of the occupation. They added that the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties, and saw both sides exchange views on notable regional and international developments of joint interest. They stressed their commitment to the Palestinian cause, with Qatar saying that it will reject any elimination of it at the expense of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state with East Al Quds as its capital in accordance to the 1967 borders. The paper added that HH the Amir reiterated the State of Qatar's support to the Palestinian people and to Al Quds being the capital of Palestine, and rejects and solutions that neglects that issue. Al Rayah said that this position was a message to everyone that the Palestinian cause was one that belongs to all Arabs and so no one party can allow themselves to offer concessions in order to make new alliances. Al Rayah concluded that Qatar has always supported the rights of the Palestinian people, evident by its rejection of the American decision to recognize Al Quds as a capital of Israel. They also highlighted the State of Qatar's efforts in rebuilding Gaza following Israeli attacks, in addition to its support to national reconciliation efforts especially as they are set to face the deal of the century that the U.S. along with other countries are trying to agree.
