Newspapers: Turkey Enters New Era in Political History under Erdogan's Leadership

Doha, July 10 (QNA) - Qatari newspaper said that Turkey has entered a new era in its political history after HE Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan began officially a new presidential term. The newspapers underlined in their editorials Tuesday Turkey's transition to the presidential system instead of the parliamentary system, which puts it in front of many responsibilities towards regional and international issues. The papers expressed hope that this new era will be a good omen for the Turkish people in view of HE President Erdogan's achievements in various fields during his 15-year rule. The dailies highlighted the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, along with his brothers Heads of States, in the inauguration ceremony of HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, pointing out that this participation reflects the depth and strength of the Qatari-Turkish strategic relations which are reinforced by bonds of brotherhood and joint cooperation. This participation, the papers said, also confirms the full Qatari support for the constitutional legitimacy in Turkey under the leadership of President Erdogan. For its part, Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial that Turkish people have accepted democracy as a means of governing by giving confidence to President Erdogan and his party, therefore, Erdogan pledged to uphold the Turkish Republic in the next stage. It is clear that Turkey will move forward in the next phase in all areas, especially democracy, freedoms, economy and investments, and that it will strengthen its capabilities in all fields, especially the defense industries and border security, the paper added. The newspaper pointed out that Turkey has become a role model politically and economically thanks to the wisdom and leadership of President Erdogan who turned it into a politically and economically stable country and a pivotal force in international affairs, noting that it is therefore not strange that the Turkish people renew their confidence in Erdogan who built the modern renaissance of Turkey in order to move towards the planned goals of 2023. The Qatari-Turkish relations are based on strategic partnership and cooperation in various fields, and that the participation of HH the Amir in the inauguration ceremony of his brother President Erdogan for a new term as the first President of the Republic of Turkey after the new constitutional amendment confirms that these relations will undergo further development to become a strategic partnership, the paper said. Turkey has developed its economy in recent years and has achieved qualitative successes, the paper said, adding that Turkey is expected to be one of the world's ten largest economic countries in the coming years. In conclusion, Al-Raya said that the new presidential phase and the manner in which it was carried out constitute a referendum and a popular endorsement of the personality of President Erdogan, and that this popular mandate has silenced everyone who doesn't want the good for Turkey and its people. In turn, Al-Watan daily said in its editorial today that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the inauguration ceremony of his brother HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as President of the Republic of Turkey for a new term is a new addition to the record of the developed bilateral relations between the two allied and strategic partner countries. The paper pointed out that the strong relations between Qatar and Turkey constituted a significant step in the development of the strategic partnership, especially that Erdogan was one of the first leaders to reject the conspiracies of the siege countries, and has called for solutions by dialogue between Qatar and these countries. The newspaper affirmed that Turkey has been, and continues to be, an active partner of Qatar in all fields, led by Erdogan, the man who was able to remove Turkey from an economic failure to the world's top 20 most powerful economies. The Qatari daily also praised Turkey's current renaissance under the leadership of Erdogan, pointing out that this renaissance restored to Turkish women their proper status, and that religious education returned to the Turkish arena after it was limited in previous eras. Moreover, the paper underlined Erdogan's positions towards Islamic issues and holy sites that put him at the forefront of the Islamic world. The newspaper concluded that the Qatari-Turkish relations have deepened and solidified after the siege, and will continue thanks to the wisdom of the wise leaderships of the two countries. For its part, Qatari daily Al-Sharq underlined the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the inauguration ceremony of his brother HE Recep Tayyip Erdogan for a new presidential term which reflects the depth and strength of strategic relations that are reinforced by bonds of brotherhood and joint cooperation. On this occasion, HH the Amir blessed the leadership of Turkey shifting to a new political era and congratulated the people of Turkey on this political achievement, wishing them further progress and prosperity, the paper noted. The Qatari daily said that the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey are the two pillars of stability in the region which defending the Palestinian cause, the peoples' issues and their right to live in dignity based on principled positions and common destiny. The State of Qatar stood by the Republic of Turkey in which HH the Amir was the first leader to contact his brother HE President Erdogan after the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, Al-Sharq affirmed. The paper added that Ankara has also stood by Doha after the unjust siege, as it activated the security agreement and sent troops, pointing out that this reflects the strength of relations between the two countries. The paper added that the Republic of Turkey has entered a new era as it shifts to the presidential system with HE President Erdogan pledged to fulfill the duties with integrity and protect the Republic of Turkey, pointing out that HE President Erdogan became the founder of modern and strong Turkey. In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that shifting to the presidential system presents Turkey with responsibilities toward regional and international issues and is also a good omen for the Turkish people in view of HE President Erdogan's achievements in various fields during his 15-year rule. Al-Arab daily praised in its editorial today HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation, along with 21 Heads of States, in the inauguration ceremony of HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as President of the Republic of Turkey for a new term. The newspaper pointed out that HH was at the forefront of the attendees in this great ceremony to congratulate the brotherly Turkish people and HE President Erdogan on the success of the free electoral process, which is a victory for the public will, stressing that the State of Qatar has been and will continue to stand with the choices of peoples. Al-Arab said that the events and difficulties experienced by Qatar and Turkey in recent years and the two countries' support of each other increased the depth of brotherhood between them, pointing out that in the past three years, there have been many meetings between HH the Amir and his brother HE the Turkish President over a short period of time. The newspaper added that HE President Erdogan has already - in a gesture that conveyed the meanings of appreciation to the State of Qatar - chosen Doha the first Arab country to visit after his election and inauguration as President of the Republic in August 2014. Erdogan was the first president to visit Doha during the siege, and that Qatar was at the forefront of Turkey's supporters during the failed coup attempt, the paper said, adding that Turkey was also the first stop in the first foreign tour of HH the Amir after the siege.
