Nine Members Of BPH Migas Committee Installed

Jakarta, Jan 12 (ANTARA) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik on Wednesday installed nine members of the Committee for the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) for the 2011-2015 term. The installation followed the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 78/P of 2011. The newly-installed BPH Migas Committee were Andy Noorsaman Sommeng, concurrently the committee`s chief, M Fanshurullah Asa, Fahmi Harsandono, Sumihar Panjaitan, Saryono Hadiwidjoyo, Karseno, Martin Samodra Ritonga, Ibrahim Hasyim, and A Qoyum Tjandranegara. The nine members had earlier passed a fit and proper test held by the House of Representatives Commission VII on December 8, 2011. Jero Wacik asked BPH Migas to serve as a spearhead in downstream oil and gas activities, particularly in distributing fuel oils in an evenly manner across the country. "BPH Migas assumes formidable task, namely to supply BBM on target," he said. Meanwhile, Andy said his side would focus on preventing abuse of subsidized fuel oils. "This is related to legal acts and how to build an effective system," he said. Asked to comment on the government`s plan to limit the use of subsidized fuel oils, he said the committee would play a role in supervising and socializing the implementation of the plan.
