NLA:Amendment toThailand's Provisional Charter will affect roadmap

BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) - National Legislative Assembly (NLA) President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai admits that the amendment to Thailand's Provisional Constitution will affect the roadmap having been implemented by the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). Pornpetch told journalists on Thursday that the amendment to allow a referendum on Thailand's new Constitution needs to be, however, completed by the deadline, set on August 6, 2015, to facilitate the forthcoming referendum of the new Constitution, which has been initially passed by the National Reform Council (NRC). Pornpetch explained that the amendment to the Provisional Constitution would set details of the referendum and acceptable actions in case that the new Constitution was rejected in the referendum. Besides, the referendum would have to effectively reflect people's opinions and another Constitution draft must be better than the one, probably, rejected, please people and promote national interest.
