NMC Media Innovation Forum launched

ABU DHABI, 25th November, 2015 (WAM)--As part of the UAE Innovation Week, the National Media Council (NMC), has organised the Media Innovation Forum, attended by a number of media persons and specialists in social media. The move also comes within the framework of spreading the innovation culture and the latest innovative developments. The event included lectures, visual presentations and discussion panels, which focussed on the importance of innovation in the media in light of the rapid developments that require creativity and innovation as a method and work style. Dr. Ammar Bakar, CEO of Y2D opened the forum with the lecture that dealt with the media strategies and touched on incentives to innovation, which lie in technology, market opportunities, established strategy, leadership and vision, organisational structure, human resources and general culture of the institution. He referred to the digital media revolution and the challenges that followed the diversity of digital communication modes which have changed the nature of the competition among the media institutions. Dr. Ammar noted that the positive environment in the institutions, is one of the key factors for innovation and creativity. For his part, Mohammed Saud Jamal, the founder of "I sea App" at Arabia TV Channel, spoke about the App, which was launched officially in mid-2015. Through the App public can send motion video on any new event or an important issue. Hiba Al Samit, Digital Media Director at Dubai Media Incorporation, spoke of the innovative programme launched by Dubai TV channels such as hologram or 3 dimensional graphics used in the coverage of main events such the UAE's winning to host Expo 2020 Dubai and the Dubai Airshow. Maqsoud Kruse, Executive Director of the Hedaya International Centre of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), spoke about the media psychology and its role in innovation, citing the UAE hosting of the Hedayah centre, the first world establishment that includes all expertise in combating the extreme violence. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395288452862.html
