No one believes Pompeo's remarks about Iran: Analyst

Tehran, July 23, IRNA – The US government has targeted all sections in Iran, including food and medicine, so nobody will believe US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's support for the Iranian people, a political analyst told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday 'It is crystal clear to people that US' animosity has no limits; especially the incumbent US administration tries to annoy Iranian people as much as possible,' Mohammad Marandi commented on Pompoe's claim to support Iranian people. Regarding the sanctions on oil, Marandi said, 'The goal of the oil sanctions is to make Iranian people miserable, but to no avail.' He also said that Western media are trying to depict a tarnished picture of Iran to help the US to create disappointment and frustration in Iran. This has been the case for 40 years, he noted. Marandi also said that the US has weakened as eastern countries have strengthened. Iran has also become more powerful than before, he added. 'Anyone who talks about negotiating with the US is harming Iranian people out of grudge, treason, or ignorance,' Marandi said. In a meeting with Iranian Americans in Los Angeles on Sunday evening, Pompeo claimed that the US government hears the voices of Iranian people and supports their demands.
