No Thai casualties so far in China's warehouse blast

BANGKOK, August 13 (TNA) - No Thai casualties have been reported so far from Wednesday night's massive explosion at a warehouse in China's northeastern Tianjin City. Speaking to journalists on Thursday morning, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee, who is also Director-General of the ministry's Department of Information, said the Thai Embassy in Beijing has initially reported that there were no Thai victims in the deadly blast at the warehouse of Tianjin Dongjiang Port Rui Hai International Logistics Co. Ltd., which occurred at about 11:30pm (local time), or 15:30 GMT. The spokesman revealed that there are now about 500 Thai students in Tianjin. According to China’s official Xinhua News Agency, at least 17 people were killed in the blast and more than 400 others were hospitalised. Founded in 2011, Tianjin Dongjiang Port Rui Hai International Logistics Co. Ltd., is a storage and distribution center of containers of dangerous goods at the Tianjin Port. (TNA)
