NONG KHAI, Oct 18 (TNA) - Nong Khai province bordering Laos expects that over 300,000 tourists would visit the province and view Naga fireballs which rise from Mekong River into the air during the end of Buddhist Lent Day late this month. This year’s Buddhist Lent Day falls on October 27. The provincial deputy governor Prasong Kongkaoropthum said provincial officials have cooperated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand office in the province and the private sector in organising several activities between October 24 - November 4 in the province celebrating the annual event. It is projected that some 30 million baht will be circulated during the event while people are requested not to light firecrackers.
