North Korea eyes agricultural land on lease in Russian Far East

MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. North Korea wants to take 10,000-15,000 hectares of agricultural land on lease in Russia’s Far East, Deputy Far East Development Minister Maxim Shereikin said on Thursday. “The lease is planned for agricultural output,” the deputy minister said. Russia can offer agricultural land on lease, if the prospective tenant presents a business plan confirmed by guaranteed financing and technologies for long-term agribusiness reproduction, the deputy minister said. “North Korean representatives have promised to show such an investor,” he said.
