North Korean leader oversees Air Force exercises

PYONGYANG, December 8. /TASS/. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has overseen exercises of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Korean People’s Army, the country’s central news agency reported on Monday. The supreme commander noted the importance of training of pilots who “will defend the country in air battles when a war breaks out.” Kim Jong-un studied the combat training plan at Base 458 and ordered to build a new runway there and train takeoffs and landings of fighters, the agency said, without giving information about the location of the base. Pilots must study tactics and master guerilla warfare techniques, the supreme commander said. The North Korean army currently holds winter exercises. The country’s leader earlier visited Base 1313. He said servicemen must improve combat training adjusted to information about whereabouts of enemy troops. Read more
