Northern Governor condemns Karranah terror blast

Manama, Aug. 29 9BNA): Northern Governor Ali bin Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al-Asfoor emphasised the importance of national solidarity in deterring terrorism and all forms of violence. He condemned the terror blast which happened in Karranah village yesterday evening and resulted in the death of an on-duty policeman and the injury of other police officers and civilians after two hand-made bombs had been remotely detonated. The Northern Governor pointed out that continuous attempts to undermine national stability aim to shake social stability and civil peace. He added that those criminal acts are alien to the Bahraini society, calling on all social components to join hands in confronting terrorism. He extended condolences to the leadership, the Interior Minister and the victim’ s family, lauding the Interior Ministry’s efforts to protect national gains and unity. He also praised stances of individuals and institutions condemning those crimes and asserting safety of the internal front. He pointed out the need for the civil society institutions to cooperate with the government to promote the culture of tolerance and co-existence by shunning terrorism and sectarianism.
