Norway: Alexander Rybak to perform at Norwegian final

Baku, February 10 (AzerTAc). Alexander Rybak the 2009 Norwegian Eurovision winner will be perform at the 2012 Norske Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian Eurovision national final next Saturday in Oslo. He has stepped in at the last minute as last year's Eurovision representative Stella Mwangi will not be able to perform due to her father's demise. On Saturday the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2012 will take place in Oslo, where Norway will finally choose its entry after three exciting Semi-Finals in Ørland, Larvik and Florø. Traditionally the previous year's winner, which in this case is Stella Mwangi, would perform during the interval act. However, last week Stella Mwangi's father Jeff Mwangi Kwirikia tragically lost his life and quite understandably Stella is unable to perform. This left quite a big gap in the show for NRK to fill and as luck would have it one of the most sought after acts in Europe and winner of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest for Norway, Alexander Rybak, has agreed to step in and perform. In addition to this a secret performance by all of this year's participants is also being planned.
