Norway-Qatar Have Share In Life Of Refugees In Iran

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA - In Iran every school age child can easily go to school and luckily refugees living in the Islamic Republic of Iran are not an exception. They can learn from “a” for “apple” to the university level side by side with their Iranian classmates, a news release issued by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said. While the Government of Iran is the main supporter of refugees, donor contributions complement and help provide a number of valuable services for refugees, who are amongst the most vulnerable part of the society. The Government of Norway and the Qatar Foundation are amongst these donors whose generosity positively impacted the life of this population. More precisely the generous donation of the Government of Norway gave some refugees the opportunity to receive technical training and support in business start-ups enabling them to make a living. This will eventually also assist refugees to access job opportunities back home, thus facilitating voluntary repatriation and their sustainable reintegration. Qatar Foundation believes: “Investment in knowledge pays the best interest to humanity”. Their donation helped young refugees enjoy the happy moments of going to school where they learn, play, socialize and get a moral boost. This donation has covered from construction of schools to providing equipment to make the school function. School and library equipment, stationary, school uniforms, Hygiene kits and transportation services for low income families were also part of the donation. UNHCR greatly appreciates the humanitarian efforts of Norway & Qatar Foundation in the protection of refugees in the Islamic Republic of Iran. These donations have affected refugee lives and helped to improve their living conditions whether residing in the host country or once they opt to repatriate home./end
