NSC:Authorities take care of all Thai areas

BANGKOK, October 11 (TNA) - National Security Council (NSC) Chief General Taweep Netniyom assures that security authorities have been fully-prepared for taking care of all areas in Thailand to prevent any untoward incident. especially in Bangkok. General Taweep stressed on Tuesday that security authorities have closely monitored the updated situation in all areas nationwide, as instructed by Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees national security. In response to a recent warning of three sensitive areas in Bangkok that could be targeted of perpetrators during October 25-30, General Taweep said that no areas at risk have been notified by official intelligence agencies. The NSC chief, however, called on the public to help monitor the situation and immediately report any irregularity they come across to local authorities, namely any suspicious vehicle or object. Meanwhile, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) Nitinai Sirismatthakarn told journalists that AOT has beefed up security measures to the highest level of 3 at all six airports under its jurisdiction nationwide, asking for cooperation from international passengers and visitors to follow the security measures to ensure public order and efficiency of the prepared measures and to immediately provide tip-offs to airports' security guards if they discover any suspicious object or person.
