Nuclear deal dashed hopes of those seeking to isolate Iran: official

Tehran, July 19, IRNA – A senior official with presidential office Mohammad Ashrafi Esfahani said Sunday that Iran deal dashed the hopes of those who were seeking to isolate the Islamic Republic of Iran. Ashrafi Esfahani said that the deal was the outcome of 12 years of resistance and 23 months of constant follow-up by the government, particularly that of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Iranian negotiators. With nuclear deal now in place, Western countries have signaled readiness one after another to broaden relations with Tehran. He echoed chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani saying the deal is more important than the liberation of Khorramshahr (a southwestern Iranian city used to be captured by the Ba'ath regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain during 1980-88 war between Iran and Iraq). Now President Hassan Rouhani have fulfilled his promises about building better relations with the world and settling the nuclear issue, Ashrafi Esfahani said, adding, 'Now we are waiting for his other promises to be met one by one.'
