Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister announces the opening of the application process for the 2016- 2017 FDPM Fellowship

Manama, Feb. 6(BNA) The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister has announced the opening of the application process for the FDPM Fellowship. The second year of the prestigious programme will provide an opportunity for the successful applicants to benefit from a wide range of development and training activities. The Director General of the Office of the FDPM, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, stated that the level of expertise gained by the first batch of the FDPM Fellowship and the experience they will take back to their workplaces proves the importance of this unique ambitious programme. The Director General emphasised that the programme reflects the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in empowering the Kingdom’s youth and investing in future generations. His Excellency further added that the highly esteemed programme will continue to provide dynamic learning experiences to help develop fellows’ analytical, leadership and creative skills, and that the skills taken back into the fellows’ workplaces will contribute to improving government performance and achieving Bahrain’s overall development goals. Around 600 applicants applied to last year’s programme and the successful applicants have benefitted from intensive training courses on leadership and effective communication, one-on-one meetings with various senior government officials, and participated in research and strategic projects. This year’s FDPM Fellowship will be open to all government employees below managerial level and the applications will be accepted until 7 March 2016.
