Officials, citizens sign National Document

Manama, Aug.2 (BNA): Officials and citizens converged for the second day on Muharraq Club to sign the National Document. The Muharraq Club yesterday launched the document in rejection of the Iranian blatant interference in Bahrain's internal affairs. They all expressed their keenness on taking part in the initiative and voicing their strong rejection of the hostile statements made by the Iranian spiritual leader Ali Khamenei and other officials against the Kingdom. "These hostile statements lay bare the ill-intentions of the Iranian officials against Bahrain, its wise leadership and peace-loving people", they said, slamming the Iranian meddlesome policies which encroach on Bahrain's sovereignty and independence, violate the principles of good neighborliness and the international laws and conventions. They called for an end to such hostile statements which will only deepen the animosity and hatred between peoples and countries, undermine the values of tolerance and amity, stir tensions, spark regional instability and fan the flames of sectarianism. The officials and citizens reiterated their unwavering allegiance to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. They hailed the statement which was made by the Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, denouncing the flagrant Iranian interference in Bahrain's internal affairs. They commended the dedicated efforts and alertness of the security authorities which thwarted attempts to smuggle into Bahrain weapons, explosives and ammunition from Iran which trains, aids and abets terrorists and harbors fugitives.
