OIC chief to visit Thai far South

BANGKOK, September 6 (TNA) - Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is scheduled to pay a visit to Thailand from September 18-19. Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha told reporters of the OIC chief's scheduled trip to Thailand on Thursday, saying that the Thai military is ready to provide information for the OIC chief. General Prayuth said, however, that the 57-member OIC should understand Thailand wants to solve internal problems by itself. The army chief acknowledged that bombings in the Thai deep South cannot be 100 per cent prevented, as there are over 300 routes to the southernmost Thai region, urging local people to help by reporting suspicious movements or objects. Regarding the raising of Malaysian national flag during recent violent incidents in the Thai far South, the army commander-in-chief noted that Kuala Lumpur was shocked and Malaysian authorities were trying to find the buyers of those flags.
