OIC not to intervene in Thai far South

BANGKOK, May 7 (TNA) - Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Prajin Jantong says that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will not intervene in problems in the Thai far South, as it has realized that they are Thailand's internal affairs. Air Chief Marshal Prajin suggested on Tuesday that concerned security authorities work out effective strategies and keep working patiently to cope with persistent violent incidents in the southernmost Thai region. The air force chief assessed that the polling result in Malaysia last Sunday should guarantee the continuation of peace talks between the Thai government, through the National Security Council (NSC), and representatives of insurgent groups in the southern border Thai region, led by the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) insurgency movement, asking people to let the NSC proceed with the peace process and give the agency morale support.
