Oil Minister Meets LUKOILO's CEO

BAGHDAD / NINA / Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi discussed with the CEO of Russian LUKOIL, Wahid Kaperov range of issues related to the implementation of development plans for Iraq's oil industry. Abdul-Mahdi, according to a ministry statement, confirmed to create a safe environment to attract investment in the oil sector and elevate the oil industry in the country and expressed satisfaction with the steps of Russia's LUKOIL in the development and increase production at the West Qurna / 2 field, stressing the desire to increase the volume of cooperation with the company to include other new projects and the ministry has sought to overcome the difficulties that may impede the work of foreign companies operating in Iraq as part of the licensing rounds. For his part, CEO of LUKOIL confirmed its commitment to increase the volume of cooperation and investments in oil and gas exploration industries, in Iraq, stressing that his company is committed to the development plans and the increase in production in the oil fields, including West Qurna / 2, which achieved a significant increase in production. / End
