Oman's Deputy PM Meets Al-Nasser

Muscat, November 26 (QNA) - Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said on Wednesday met HE Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, U.N. high representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, on the sidelines of a three-day official visit that the latter concluded yesterday. Al-Nasser met on the sidelines of his visit with senior Omani officials including Chairman of the State Council Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, and Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salimi. Talks touched on means of enhancing cooperation in areas related to the activities and programs of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), which is concerned with spreading the culture of peace and tolerance and extending bridges of dialogue among cultures and religions. During the visit, HE Al-Nasser addressed the 28th international conference on Shared Values in the World of Multiculturalism, which discussed major global challenges facing security and stability, particularly extremism and terrorism as well as coexistence, the influence of globalization, and how to achieve development for humanity.
