Oman's Deputy Prime Minister Meets HE Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry

Muscat, October 20 (QNA) - Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers' Affairs Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said met HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 11th Gulf Water Conference which began here today. Discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral relations and various aspects of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman. The Water Sciences & Technology Associations 11th Gulf Water Conference, organized jointly by Water Sciences & Technology Association and Oman's Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, is held under the theme "Water in the GCC Arab States of the Gulf --- Towards Efficient Management." The sessions of the 2-day conference will discuss a number of key topics relevant to efficient management of natural water resources (groundwater, desalinated and wastewater), and water consumer sectors such as the agricultural and industrial sectors, in addition to sustainable management of water in the GCC Arab States of the Gulf. Held once every two years, the conference aims at raising awareness, influencing policy and decision making to the importance of improving water efficiency as a cost-effective option contributing to a more sustainable water management, and identifying challenges and opportunities in the GCC States. It is worth to mention that the 10th Gulf Water Conference was held in Doha in 2012 under the patronage of HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada. (QNA)
