One person drowned in Ayutthaya's flood

AYUTTHAYA, Oct 9 (TNA) - Flood in Ayutthaya killed a man while villagers in this central province are suffering from ongoing flood. The victim was drowned in front of his house in Bang Ban district on Saturday evening as some areas of Ayutthaya were under floodwater as high as over one metre. Meanwhile, irrigation officials said Pasak Jolasit Dam in nearby Lop Buri province today increased water discharge as water stored at the dam has now increased to 907 million cubic metres or about 94 per cent of its full capacity. More water has been released from the dam, causing the water level in Pa Sak River to rise in three provinces, in Lop Buri, Saraburi and Ayutthaya. People living near the river are urged to move their belongings to higher ground. (TNA)
