One seriously injured in Thai south attack

BANGKOK, April 17 (TNA) - One paramilitary officer was wounded in a standoff with armed militants in Thailand’s Narathiwat province Wednesday evening. Ranger Tosaporn Tempeng had sustained serious bullet wounds after gunfire broke out near the Chalerm Chai security post in Si Sakhon Sub-district, which came under heavy machine gun and grenade fire until backup arrived. Police had found over 50 shells of AK, M16 and Uzi ammunition at the scene of shooting. (TNA)
