Opinions from domestic, overseas parties welcomed for reform plans in Thailand

BANGKOK, December 3 (TNA) - The Thai government welcomes proposed ideas from everyone, including Thai nationals living in the country and abroad and even the international community, during the ongoing national reform process. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Thanasak Patimapragorn announced the stance on Wednesday, after opening a public forum in Bangkok on "the Path to Reform", in which Thai and foreigners participated to share their ideas. General Thanasak told journalists that the forum was the first of its kind and the Thai government will continue to organise such forums, as they are considered important to create proper understanding among the public about the government's reform plans. According to the deputy premier, all good ideas and opinions will be gathered and those considered best suit public and national interests will be used for national reforms. The deputy prime minister noted that Thai embassies in all allied nations have been assigned to gather proposed ideas from Thai people and other parties in their respective countries and to forward them to the National Reform Council (NRC) in Bangkok. Meanwhile, President of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) Pornpetch Wichitcholachai acknowledged that the international community has followed up developments in Thailand; so proposed ideas from all domestic and overseas parties will be taken into consideration with the ones best suit public and national interests, based on the Thai norms, to be utilised.
