Organizer promises transparency in Thailand's historic 3G licence auction

BANGKOK, October 16 (TNA) - Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Board (NBTC) on Tuesday organized the first and historic 3G licence auction in the country with the presence of experts from several agencies to ensure transparency as it has promised. An NBTC member, Suthipol Thaweechaikarn, insisted that the NBTC was applying the best means of auction to maximize the benefits of the state and the public, noting that the NBTC was using the auction software applied by several countries, as it never tolerates any collusion attempt. Acting Auditor General Pisit Leelawachiropas acknowledged that the auction drew public attention and was proceeding smoothly. (TNA)
