OTOP Midyear 2016 reels in over 352 million baht

BANGKOK, June 11 (TNA) -- Interior Ministry announced that the on going OTOP Midyear 2016 fair has been well received by the general public, as the first four days of the event has generated an income of over 352 million baht and the ministry is certain that the targeted income of 800 million baht would reached by the last day of the fair. Chayapol Thitisak, deputy permanent secretary for the Interior Ministry, in his capacity as the ministry's spokesperson said during the past four days of the OTOP Midyear 2016 event, which has been organised with the theme, "Thailand's Varieties in One Place", at the Challenger Halls 1-3 of Impact Muang Thong Thani from June 6-13, the event has been well received by the public, with the number of visitors reaching as high as 160,082 persons. He said the income generated in the past four days has amounted to over 352 million baht, with the top three OTOP groups of items being sold at the fair being textile and clothing, followed by household goods and decorations and food. The deputy permanent secretary noted that the group of OTOP artist which is also exhibiting their products at the fair has also sold up to 17 million baht worth of goods, while the ministry is expecting that more than 800 million would be circulation by the end of fair on June 13 as targeted.
