Our “Domog” folk group wins Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian folk group named "Domog" (Legend) has won a Grand Prix of "Golden Orpheus" in the World Championship of Folklore "World Folk 2013" which took place from August 22 to September 1 in Nessebar, Bulgaria. The Grand Prix is accompanied with a gold medal and a diploma of ABSOLUTE WORLD CHAMPION OF FOLKLORE for 2013, and a cash prize of EUR 1,000. Our group consists of long-song singers, dancers and contortionists. They have also won a golden Cup for individual music. A State Prize Holder D.Sosorbaram, who directed runner-up performances at the contest, has been awarded a title of Maestro from the World Folk Academy (WFA). The events were co-organized for the third time by the World Association of Folklore Festivals (WAFF), the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF) and the World Folklore Academy and other organizations, with a support of the UNESCO and the Municipality of Nessebar, Burgas. It attracted 98 groups from 24 countries.
