Outgoing Italian Ambassador visits GPIC

01 : 04 PM - 29/07/2016 Manama, July 29 (BNA): Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery received outgoing Italian Ambassador to Bahrain Alberto Vecche. Several members of the Executive Management were present during the meeting, during with the two sides discussed co-operation between Italian companies and GPIC which saw increased activity during Mr. Vecche. tenure. The Ambassador also visited GPIC several times, and that helped increase the understanding as well. Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Jawahery described the relationship between the two sides as one that left an imprint on Bahraini-Italian relations at all levels. He said the Company was honoured to have received the Ambassador on several occasions and these visits had left a lasting impression on both sides. He said GPIC Board had stressed on increased bilateral co-operation, especially on the great interest shown in the high level of experience of Italian companies in the field of petrochemicals and fertilizers as well as in the field of advanced manufacturing equipment and spare parts. Dr. Jawahery applauded the significant role played by Italian companies in contributing towards GPIC plants and in providing the necessary technical support and services. The President said Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) is also very keen on closer ties with various foreign companies in general and Italian companies in particular. He praised the ties between Bahrain and Italy as historic, which bind GPIC with Italian industrialists. Dr. Jawahery expressed the hope that cooperation between the two sides would continue with a new Ambassador taking over. He thanked Mr. Vecche for all that he had done in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and wished him all success. The Ambassador appreciated the cooperation with GPIC and thanked Dr. Jawahery and other officials for the welcome and the hospitality during his visits. He expressed great satisfaction at the high level of co-operation between GPIC and Italian companies and said these relations would contribute towards consolidating industrial relations between the two countries. The Ambassador also thanked Dr. Jawahery for his efforts to enhance co-operation, which contributed to the success of his diplomatic career. The Ambassador appreciated GPIC’s support for the recent Italian week in Bahrain and said the Company’s Executive Management and all employees had given him a very high level of support. He expressed the hope that Bahrain continues to march on the path of peace, progress and prosperity in all areas and achieve success and excellence.
