Over 200 persons in Yala learn Thai-style boxing

YALA, September 5 (TNA) -- More than 200 youths, soldiers and physical health instructors have joined a three-day Thai-style training in the deep Thai province of Yala and their trainer is one of the most outstanding professional boxer, Buakaw Banchamek. The training, began Friday, at the Physical Health Institute in Yala and Buakaw or army Sergeant Sombat Banchamek has been invited to offer training on Thai-style boxing to them. The training is sponsored by several agencies including the Royal Thai Army, the National Reform Committee and the Banchamek Boxing Gym. The objectives of the training are to build cooperation, love and unity, and increasing Thai-style boxing skills to people in the province. Buakaw (White Lotus), 33, is popular boxer in Thailand and overseas. He began his fighting career at the age of 8 fighting in his home province of Buriram in northeastern Thailand. At the age of 15, he moved to Chachoengsao, near Bangkok, to fight for the Por Pramuk Gym. Buakaw is believed to have had about 400 career fights to date. (TNA)
