Over 200 Siamese rosewood logs seized in Thai Northeast

BANGKOK, May 17 (TNA) - Thai authorities on Saturday confiscated over 200 logs of Siamese rosewood in Si Sa Ket Province in the Thai Northeast, bordering Cambodia. The illegal logs were found in two large trailers of farm tractors in a village in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak District. Suspected smugglers abandoned their vehicles and fled before the authorities moved in. The operation involved local police, environametal protection police, border police, as well as rangers and soldiers. The illegal logs were then transported to a nearby police station as evidence in the case. (TNA)
