Over 300 foreign journalists to cover Bahman 22 rallies

Tehran, Feb 10, IRNA - The massive turnout in the upcoming Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies will be covered by over 300 foreign journalists from regional and international media, an Iranian official said on Sunday. In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), deputy head of the Council of Coordination on Islamic Propagation said over 6,500 Iranian and foreign reporters, photographers and cameramen would cover this magnificent event. Nasrollah Lotfi reiterated that the foreign reporters are slated to station in the routs leading to Azadi Square in west of Tehran. He added that over 200 top ranking political, religious, sports and academic foreign figures would also attend the rallies. Lotfi pointed out that the followers of divine religions along with their leaders would participate in the splendid event. People all across Iran would commemorate the 40th anniversary of their Islamic Revolution on Monday by pouring into streets and taking part in rallies. The day of the late Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran from exile (Feb 1, 1979) marks the beginning of the Ten-Day Dawn during which ceremonies are held which culminate with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, 1979. Iranian people toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, ending 2,500 years of absolute monarchy in the country. Follow us on Twitter @IrnaEnglish
