Over 3,000 cyclists pay tribute to former Thai kings

PRACHUAP KHIRI KAN, September 12 (TNA) -- More than 3,000 cyclists on Saturday rode bicycles for a total distance of 126.6 kilometres, started from a Ratchapak "King's Memorial Park" in Hua Hin resort district, to pay tribute to former Thai kings. Presiding over the ‘Ratchapak Bike & Concert’ opening ceremony was General Pisit Sithisarn who let more than 3,000 cyclists to ride their bicycles from the starting point at the park heading for Petchakasem Road and Pran Buri – Cha-am bypass road before returning to the park. It is expected that participants would reach the finished line at 3.00 pm. Those who have reached the finished line would receive a souvenir medal with an emblem of Ratchapak Park on it. Before the competition began, Deputy Defence Minister/Army Commander-in-Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr rode a bicycle and inspected the route. Sales of wristbands at 100 baht each also available. And for those participating at the competition would receive free food and beverage given away at the courtesy of the government and the private sector. (TNA)
