Over 70 Russian regions to accept tourists starting July, says PM

MOSCOW, June 29. /TASS/. More than 70 Russian regions will be able to accept tourists starting July 1, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on Monday, adding that the occupancy of hotels and other property hovers from 20% to 30% so far. In accordance with the plan on gradual lifting of quarantine restrictions, the number of regions returning to normal life is rising, while people are starting to think how to spend the remaining summer months, PM noted. "Starting July 1 more than 70 regions will be able to accept tourists, and overall the demand for tourist services is starting to grow, though occupancy still hovers from 20% to 30%," he said, adding that "in order to speed up recovery of the travel industry", it has been put on the list of affected sectors. Moreover, additional measures to support tourism have been provided in the nationwide plan of action on economic recovery, Mishustin said. Read more
