Over Bt100m likely to be changed hands during PHUKET BIKE WEEK 2015

PHUKET, THAILAND, March 31 (TNA) - About 50,000 cyclists from at least 30 countries worldwide are expected to take part in the PHUKET BIKE WEEK 2015, set to be held during the upcoming Songkran Festival, in which about 100 million baht is likely to be changed hands. Phuket Governor Nisit Chansomwong met with the organising committee of the Phuket Bike Week 2015, themed "ASEAN Ride Together", on Tuesday to prepare for the event and security measures. According to the governor, the PHUKET BIKE WEEK 2015, set to be held in the globally-renowned southern Thai resort city from April 11-14 and April 17-19, aimed to promote both local tourism and the provincial Songkran Festival, is considered a biggest event in Asia. The governor said that the upcoming event is also aimed to promote safe driving and the observation of traffic rules, while also raising funds for charity purposes through various activities organised as part of the PHUKET BIKE WEEK.
