Pakistan To Broaden Cultural Ties With Iran Sistan-Baluchestan Prov.

Zahedan, Sept 22, IRNA – Pakistani Consul General Taher Qureishi said on Monday that upgrading and expansion of cultural and media cooperation with Sistan-Baluchestn province of Iran is among priority of the consulate-general. He made the remarks in a meeting with mediapersons in Zahedan. The diplomat said that the progress to develop cultural and trade cooperation between the two sides is not satisfactory, adding that the Pakistani government is keen on enhanced cultural interaction through dispatch of cultural and arts delegations to help remove minor misunderstandings between the two sides. Mutual understanding leads to expansion of relations and cooperation between the two sides, he said. To attain the goal, the role of mediapersons and mass media are of prime importance, he said. Based on recent agreements reached between the two sides, Pakistani cultural and arts delegations are to visit Sistan-Baluchestan province to help expand cultural ties, Qureishi said. Pakistan, India and Afghanistan have opened consulate offices in Zahedan. 1430**1416
