Participants of 1st meeting of Diaspora Organisations of Turkic-speaking countries pay respect to national leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani heroes

Baku, January 24 (AzerTAc). Participants of the first meeting of the heads of state agencies responsible for the Diaspora affairs of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states` member states (CCTS) have today visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev. They also put a wreath at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva. Participants visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity and laid flowers at their graves. They enjoyed panoramic view of the capital and were informed on the history of the Alley of Martyrs and redevelopment works in Baku. Participants also put flowers at a monument to Turkish martyrs who died for Azerbaijan`s independence in 1918.
