Party and State Commendations Awarded to Persons of Merit in Grain Production

Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- At meetings of activists in the agricultural sector held in Pyongyang and all provinces, Party and state commendations were awarded to patriotic farmers, officials, scientists and technicians across the country who made a big contribution to boosting the grain production. The agricultural workers, officials, scientists and technicians in the agricultural field across the country made an active contribution to having a bumper harvest on every field by raising a hot wind of scientific, high-yielding farming despite the unfavorable disastrous and abnormal weather conditions. According to a decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Order of Kim Il Sung was conferred on Ri Man Song and Order of Kim Jong Il on Kim Sung Il. Kim Tuk Song, Han Chol, Choe Chun Sil, Kim Yong Ju, Kim Hyong Sam, Han Su Sik and Pyo In Nam were awarded the title of DPRK Labor Hero as well as Gold Medal (hammer and sickle) and Order of National Flag First Class. The commendation of watch bearing the august name of Chairman Kim Jong Il was conferred on Ri Yong Gap, Ri Hwa Song and Pak Sun Ran, and the citation of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong Un on 16 persons including Kim Yong Bin and Kim Jong Son. Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize went to Hong Kyong Chol, Kim Kwang Myong, Pyon Kum Jae, Kim Jong Chol and Ri Chol U, and Kim Jong Il Youth Honor Prize to Jong Myong Song, Choe Un Il, Ri Kwang Yol and Ri Hak Jun. 6 persons were awarded the title of Merited Tractor Driver and 5 persons the title of Merited Pump Worker. Order of National Flag First Class was conferred on 58 persons including Tang Kwang Chon and Yun Kyong Sop, Order of Labor on 34 persons, March 5 Memorial Order on 55, Order of National Flag Second Class on 570 persons and Order of National Flag Third Class on 731 persons. -0-
