Patients suffering from hand, foot and mouth disease exceed 11,000 in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - The number of hand, foot and mouth disease patients in Thailand has now increased to more than 11,000 during the first five months this year, according to Public Health Minister Dr. Pradit Sintavanarong. Data from the Ministry’s Disease Control Department have shown a total of 11,678 people, mostly children, suffered from the disease from January 1 to June 2 this year. Most of the patients were found in five provinces including Rayong, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nakhon Sawan and Nan. He said his ministry has cooperated with schools in a bid to contain the disease which usually occurred during monsoon season and in populous areas from spreading. (TNA)
