Pattaya to host World Conference on Health Promotion Aug 25-29

BANGKOK, August 15 (TNA) - The International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) will jointly organise the 21st IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion in Pattaya of Thailand's eastern seaside Chonburi province from August 25-29, 2013. Chair of the organising committee Dr. Udomsin Srisangnam told journalists that the upcoming 21st IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion will be the first held in Asia, aimed to promote an idea on best investment for health as a global agenda. Dr. Udomsin said the forthcoming conference will also serve as a platform for over 2,000 participating health experts from 80 countries worldwide to discuss best mechanisms to be used to promote good public health. According to the organising committee's chair, field trips to eight partnered communities having successfully promoted good public health will also be organised as part of the conference. The organising committee's chair noted that the participants will attend nine technical sessions to discuss such topics as financial innovations linked to health promotion and non-communicable diseases, along with an exhibition showcasing some 2,000 health articles and a cultural night.
