People most satisfied with Thai government's work to maintain order

BANGKOK, March 7 (TNA) - A recent opinion survey on the evaluation of the incumbent Thai government’s performances over the past one year and a half has shown that respondents were most satisfied with the government’s work to maintain order. The survey, conducted by Bangkok-based Suan Dusit Rajabhat University on a random basis during February 25-March 5 with 5,476 respondents, showed that out of the total 10 points, the respondents gave the government of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha 7.9, which was the top score, for the prime minister's determination to work, followed by 7.2 for the sincerity of his government, 7.11 for the working determination of the government and 7.07 for the prime minister’s achievements. Regarding the evaluation of ministries, the Ministry of Defence made the highest score of 7.99 points, followed by the Ministry of Culture with 6.96 and the Ministry of Interior with 6.95. For respondents’ satisfaction with the government’s work, the highest percentage of them, 73.35, was satisfied with its work to maintain order, 70.95 per cent liked the government's anti-corruption fights and 68.66 per cent were satisfied with the protection and promotion of the royal institution. Regarding dissatisfactory performances of the incumbent government, 81.41 per cent of respondents wanted it to solve national economic problems and expensive goods, 79.04 per cent urged it to address the problem of low produce prices and 75.63 per cent hoped it would help relieve the financial problems of local households.
