People in North suffer from cold spell

CHIANG MAI, Nov 25 (TNA) - The new round of cold snap covers northern Thailand. Temperatures rapidly plunge in mountainous areas, making life more challenging for locals, particularly the elderly. Communities in a valley behind Doi Chiang Dao in Chiang Mai are suffering from bitter cold because of a lack of blankets and winter clothes. Villagers have to warm themselves by the fire in the morning. Chiang Mai province alone, at least 300,000 pieces of winter clothes and blankets are needed to help those poor people in remote areas.
