People in Satun most happy in Thai South:Poll

SONGKHLA, THAILAND, July 22 (TNA) - A latest opinion poll, conducted by Prince of Songkhla University, has found that local residents in Satun Province were most happy among those in all 14 southern Thai provinces and two districts in Songkhla, namely Chana and Thepa. The poll, conducted last month, showed that Satun was ranked first with the highest score of public happiness of 3.2595 out the full score of 4.0000. According to the poll, the average score of public happiness in the whole southern Thai region stood at 3.1247, while seven provinces or half of all southern Thai provinces, including Songkhla, Phatthalung, Phang-nga, Narathiwat, Chumphon, Pattani and Surat Thani, had their public happiness above the average score. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mitchai Jongchiewchamnan, director of the university’s academic service center, told journalists on Friday that the poll was based on academic principles and reliable, aimed to provide information beneficial to the society and the Thai government as a guideline for its administrative management and policy making on social and national development in order to bring about happiness to the public through the further development of their quality of life.
